Police: Driver Prowled LoDo, Sexually Assaulted Passenger

DENVER (CBS4) - A man who may be pretending to be a professional town car or cab driver sexually assaulted a woman after picking her up in Lower Downtown last month.

On Oct. 24, the suspect picked up the victim outside a bar in the 1600 block of Market Street and drove to a bank on Broadway where the victim withdrew money. Police said the suspect then drove to the victim's home, parked nearby and sexually assaulted her.

He was driving a gold, tan or silver Lincoln Town Car.

Denver police said people should make sure they're taking precautions during a night out.

"You want to make sure that you make the best decision for yourself," Christine Downs with Denver police said. "Ride with a friend so you're not alone. If you've been intoxicated, especially make sure you have somebody with you."

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
