Aurora Bank Robber Jumps Over The Counter

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora are asking for the public's help in finding a bank robber who didn't wait for the teller to hand over the cash.

He jumped over the counter.

The crime happened just before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the U.S. Bank at 2990 South Peoria Street.

"When the teller opened her drawer the suspect jumped the counter and took the money from her drawer," authorities wrote in a news release.

The man then walked out of the bank.

In surveillance images he is soon both leaping over the counter and holding cash in his hand as he walks out of the bank.

No weapon was seen during the crime.

Aurora police released the following details about their investigation:

The suspect in this case is described as a black male, late 20's to early 30's, about 5'11', medium build with dark facial hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black back-pack, black athletic pants with white stripes, black beanie, and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about this case or suspect is asked to call Agent Mike Thrapp at (303) 313-6810. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP. Tipster could receive a reward.
