Veterans Day Parade Will Also Educate About Military This Year

DENVER (CBS4) – This year's Veterans Day Parade in Denver will also serve as a tool to educate about American military history, according to the city.

"Under the leadership of Colorado Veterans Project, this year's Denver Veterans Day Parade will take on a new identity by paying tribute to all of our nation's major military conflicts through interactive displays, floats and more," parade organizers said in a statement.

The parade will feature military memorabilia from each era.

"For the first time in our city's history, the Denver Veterans Day Parade will serve as a tool to educate about American military history," said Rob Bingham, president of Colorado Veterans Project. "The serials in the parade are designed as a timeline that take spectators through a glimpse of the major conflicts and American military wars."

Saturday's parade is scheduled to begin in front of the City and County Building at 10 a.m. and run until noon, ending at the state Capitol after meandering through downtown side streets. The review stand will be located on Broadway between 14th and Colfax avenues.
