Man Faces Charges In Broomfield White Powder Incident
BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) - A 42-year-old man is facing criminal charges after he and another male apparently placed a suspicious looking white powder on the desk of an office worker in Broomfield.
So far it's not clear what reason John Anthony Martinez might have had for tampering with that person's the workspace, or what relationship was that he had with that person.
The discovery of the substance was made Thursday at 8:38 a.m. inside the office, which is in a business park at 2655 West Midway Boulevard. Authorities evacuated more than 100 people and Hoyt Street near Midway Boulevard was closed for at least an hour as crews cleared the scene.

After testing the substance the fire department determined the powder wasn't hazardous.
Police announced the arrest of Martinez on Friday and said they are working on charges against the other male. That person's name and age have not been released.
After being arrested in Longmont and taken to Broomfield, Martinez bonded out of the Broomfield County Detention Facility and is set to appear in court on Dec. 11. He faces the following charges: second degree burglary, second degree criminal tampering and theft.
