Police: Witness Intervenes In Attempted Child Abduction
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - A man tried to abduct an 11-year-old boy at a park in Commerce City on Wednesday morning, police said, but aborted the attempt when a bystander yelled at him.
Police said the suspect sneaked up behind the child and grabbed him around 9:45 a.m. at Pioneer Park and pushed him to the ground when a witness confronted him. He then fled, Det. Christian Rasmussen with Commerce City police said.
The woman took the boy back to his parents, who called police. She left before police were able to talk to her and identify her.
Police described the suspect as a white man in his 30s with severe acne and open sores on his face. He has brown eyes, a scruffy goatee and a mustache. He was wearing blue pants and a black turtleneck.

The park is a popular spot for local kids and teenagers. But Tuesday's violence made at least one of the uneasy.
"It's scary," Brian Quezada, 13, said.
Others in the park said they hadn't seen the suspect.
"That's a generalization of darn near all the kids in Commerce City," Jerry Stone, who frequents the park, said. "Parents should be leery, is what I think."
