DENVER (CBS4) – Longtime CBS4 viewers know all about former prep sports reporter Marcia Neville.

Neville is a true pioneer in the reporting of high school sports, and on Tuesday the former CBS4 sports reporter was elected to the Colorado High School Sports Hall Of Fame.

Neville reported on high school sports for 26 years in Colorado.

“There wasn’t an athlete, coach or school that didn’t know who Neville was and embraced her passion and enthusiasm for prep sports. She put coverage of high school sports on the same level as the colleges and professional sports teams,” Bert Borgmann with the Colorado High School Activities Association said.

“Well deserved,” CBS4’s Vic Lombardi said. “Nobody covered the preps like Marcia Neville.”

Neville left CBS4 in 2009. She currently works for the University of Colorado Denver – Anschutz Medical Campus as a media relations and community engagement specialist in the Office of Communications.
