4 Rescued On Boulder Flatirons

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Four people have been rescued from the Boulder Flatirons after the climbers became stranded.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says one of the four climbers got stranded Saturday evening when his ropes got stuck, blocking three other climbers who could not get down.

The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, AMR Ambulance, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Rangers, Boulder Fire Department and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office helped in the rescue. Rescuers say the climbers were not prepared with the necessary clothing and supplies.

Authorities say 46 year-old Eric Westerkamp got stranded 30 feet in the air when his ropes got stuck on the mountain. The three other climbers were identified as 29-year-old Daniel Hood, 26-year-old Jarrett Grindlay and 44-year-old Rachel Hess. Their hometowns were not available.
