Police Investigate Assault On Boulder Bike Path

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Boulder are investigating an attack on a bike path that left a man injured.

The man told police that he was assaulted on Sept. 27 about 2:30 a.m. after leaving the 28th Street Tavern located at 2850 Bluff Street.

The man exited the rear door of the business that leads to an alley and he started to walk east bound on the bike path that runs along the south side of the tavern.

Somewhere between 29th and 30th Streets a man came out from behind the bushes and struck the victim in the face five or six times with a closed fist. The suspect then took off west bound on the bike path.

The victim suffered serious injuries to his face and head. He didn't get a good look at the suspect but said he was 5-foot-11 to 6-foot, with possible beard stubble.
