Northglenn Home Raided In Suspected Drug Bust

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4) - The FBI and state and local law enforcement raided a home in Northglenn on Friday as part of a suspected drug bust.

Authorities didn't say what types of drugs they were searching for in the house near 120th Avenue and Washington Street.

Shortly before 8 a.m., officers entered the home using flash-bang devices and took two adults into custody.

"We were just sleeping and then I heard a lady screaming (for them) to surrender or they were going to shoot," neighbor Lisa Townsend said.

The subsequent search of the home lasted nearly 10 hours. Police told neighbors to stay inside their homes. The entire block was cordoned off as first-responders wearing decontamination suits secured the home before investigators entered. Crews with North Metro Fire Rescue were also at the scene with a decontamination trailer.

The FBI took command of the scene and set up a base camp in the middle of the street.

Neighbors said the home's residents had had problems with the police this year. A child also lives there, neighbors said. Townsend said police had earlier warned neighbors in June about the activity of man who lives in the home.

She police told her then: "It is my duty to let you know that the man put on Facebook that he had AK-47s."
