Cody Powell Pleads Guilty In Attempted Murder Of Loveland Cop
LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who shot a police officer with a shotgun during a traffic stop pleaded guilty on Thursday to attempted first-degree murder charges.
Cody Powell, 24, will face 16 to 48 years in prison when he's sentenced in December.
Powell shot Loveland police officer Garret Osilka on March 4. Osilka, 36, survived because his bullet-proof vest took most of the damage. He returned fire as Powell fled.
Powell originally pleaded not guilty on Sept. 4.
