Dog That Had Frostbitten Toes Cut Off Needs Help To Walk Without Pain

CANON CITY, Colo. (CBS4) – A dog that had his toes cut off by his previous owners after suffering from frostbite needs help to walk without pain and find a forever home.

Brutus could not walk on hard surfaces, run like a normal dog, or go up and down stairs. A family rescued him and started a group called Better Paws for Brutus. They are raising money to pay for his four prosthetics.

"I long for the day when I can see him go on a regular walk down the street and be a regular dog, and play with other dogs, and not be confined to just a carpeted area," said Laura Aquilina, Brutus' foster mom.

So far the group has raised more than $8,000 but they're trying to raise almost $12,000.
