CU Denver, Anschutz Campuses Get Separate Leaders

DENVER (AP) - The University of Colorado says its Denver campus and its Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora will get their own chancellors instead of being combined under one.

University President Bruce Benson announced the change Tuesday. He says the two campuses are too complex to have a single leader.

Chancellors oversee campus operations. CU's Boulder and Colorado Springs campuses each have their own chancellor.

Don Elliman will be chancellor of the medical campus. He is currently chancellor of both CU Denver and the medical campus.

CU spokesman Ken McConnellogue (mik-CAHN'-uh-log) says Elliman's salary won't change. He makes about $383,000 a year.

A search will be conducted for a new chancellor for the Denver campus. The salary hasn't been set. McConnellogue says the money will come from the Denver campus' operating funds.
