New Health Center Opens At Thomas Jefferson High School

DENVER (CBS4) – Students at one Denver high school now have easier access to health care.

Representatives from Denver Health, the Denver Public Schools and Jewish Family Services cut the ribbon on a new health center at Thomas Jefferson High School Wednesday morning.

The clinic will offer checkups, preventive services and even free counseling.

"More health care, more mental health care, more health education. You know, I think we'll really make a difference in kids' lives," Dr. Paul Melinkovich with Denver Health said.

It's the 16th school-based health center opened in the metro area.
