Green Valley Ranch Man Arrested, Accused Of Killing Wife

DENVER (CBS4) – A man is in custody accused of killing his wife in Denver's Green Valley Ranch.

Dennielle Perez, 35, was found dead in her home several weeks ago but police just arrested her husband Robert for her murder. He's being held at the Denver Detention Center with no bond.

Neighbor Justin Butler lives across the street and was out of town when the murder happened.

"One of my neighbors down the street called me on my cellphone and said, 'What's all the tape doing around the house across the street?' " Butler said.

Butler says the couple was friendly but occasionally had their differences.

"Just like everybody they had their problems, they'd argue here and there," he said.

Butler said police had visited the home just before Dennielle Perez died.

"They were here just before," Butler said. "I don't know if they were breaking up or what, but her sister was here."

Butler saw Robert Perez there as recently as a few days ago.

"Just in passing I asked him what was going on. He said, 'Well, just some troubles,' and let it at that."

Earlier this summer Dennielle Perez posted a message on Facebook saying, "Happy anniversary my love, we've been blessed with 16 years together."

If he's convicted of first-degree murder, Robert Perez could spend the next several years behind bars.

The Denver coroner has not revealed how Dennielle Perez was killed.
