Possible Hate Crime Investigated, Suspect Sought

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are searching for a suspect in a possible hate crime.

Two young men came under attack after leaving a convenience store in the 1300 block of West Colfax near downtown Denver.

Police said it started inside a Circle-K store on Aug. 28. The two men were inside when a woman made comments related to their sexual orientation. The two men walked away.

Police said what happened next may have gotten her in trouble. She drove off in a midsize gold Chevy truck. She stopped down the street next to the young men. That's when she and a passenger got out and attacked one of the young victims.

There were witnesses who stopped the assault.

Surveillance video captured the driver of the truck, the woman who made the initial comments, as she was walking into the Circle-K.
