Consistency Is Key To Training For Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon & 1/2

DENVER (CBS4) - The Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon is Sunday, Oct. 19, and consistent training up until race day will help ensure you have a smooth race.

"That makes up for all kinds of other deficiencies, otherwise," said two-time Olympian, Alan Culpepper.

Culpepper suggests that runners make sure your training fits into your life, and that you don't try to force it where it just does not work.

"If you have crazy mornings then plan to run at lunch or after work or school. If you know you won't be able to work out anytime other than first thing in the morning, then plan your day accordingly," Culpepper said.

Culpepper says that runners should plan for training as if it were a meeting or appointment, and not to take it day-to-day and hope that it works out.

The Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon & 1/2 is Sunday, October 19th at 7:15 a.m. at Civic Center Park.
