Denver Man Accused Of Sexual Assault On A Child, Family Member

DENVER (CBS4)- A Denver man is suspected of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl who is also a member of his family.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey formally charged Derrick Sharp with sexual assault on a child and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

The charges allege that Sharp, 45, a member of the family, had started sexually assaulting the victim earlier this year.

Sharp remains in custody in the Denver Detention Center on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Sept. 2 to be formally advised of the charges.
