Denver Man Found Shot Dead In His Vehicle

DENVER (CBS4) - The circumstances surrounding the death of a 48-year-old Denver man are a mystery so far.

Philip Lucero was found shot to death in his car at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Saturday on the 4300 east block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Police say they got a call before the body was found about a suspicious car on the road.

Lucero's friends said he had no enemies and a strong passion for his work in the television industry. He owned Phil Lucero Productions.

One friend described Lucero as a nice, kind and genuine person, and said that the news of his death comes as a complete shock.

Friends say Lucero was likely heading home when the shooting happened.

Lucero is survived by family in Colorado and New Mexico.
