Man Arrested After Telling Bank Employee To 'Call Police'

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A man was arrested after he told a bank employee "You better call police."

Police in Aurora said the suspect walked into the 1stBank at 25541 E. Smoky Hill Road in Aurora about 9:30 a.m. and was acting suspiciously. That's when he told a bank employee to call the cops.

Police rushed to the bank and found the man outside. Officers said he made some comments which were concerning. That's when the man led officers to his RV where they found something suspicious.

Officers evacuated the bank. The Arapahoe County Bomb Squad was called in to examine the device found in the RV. Investigators have not revealed what the device is.

East Smoky Hill Road remains closed between Tallyn's Reach Parkway and Arapahoe Road during the investigation.

The suspect has not been identified. He was taken to the hospital and will not face any charges.

Two schools near the bank, Cherokee Trail High School and Fox Ridge Middle School, were placed under a "secure perimeter" during the bank evacuation. During the secure perimeter the exterior doors are locked and there is limited access to the school.
