Rocky Mountain Showdown Feels Like A Bowl Game For The Players

DENVER (CBS4) - Jack Graham was fired as the Colorado State University athletic director last week, but clearly he's still a big CSU fan.

"I'm going to the CU game ... and I guarantee we're going to kick their rear," Graham told the Denver Post.

It's about two weeks away from the Rocky Mountain Showdown. The University of Colorado Buffaloes own the bragging rights after winning the game last year. The Rams ended up with a better season, winning a bowl game.

In some respects the "Showdown" feels like a bowl game for the fans and players.

"It means a lot to me because I know it means a lot to the people of Colorado. That's kind of the game every year that people look forward to to see who the team is in the state of Colorado that's going to represent us throughout the year. It means a lot to me. It means a lot to Fort Collins," CSU quarterback Garrett Grayson said.

"It's definitely a chippy game, but I like that. It's a rivalry game, so we're going to get the best out of them, they're going to get the best out of us," CU cornerback Greg Henderson said.
