Many Still Without Power Following Monday's Storm
DENVER (CBS4) – Monday evening's storm ripped down trees through the Denver metro area and also pulled down power lines.
At the height of the power outages more than 11,000 customers were without power. As of noon on Tuesday there were still 3,600 outages. That number was reduced to 1,000 at 2:45 p.m.
CBS4 found a crunched car in the neighborhood around the University of Denver and badly damaged gardens.
"We have a lot of large branches down and luckily nothing touched the home," DU neighborhood resident Cathy Silton said. "It looks a little devastating as a gardener. I kind of understand that things do usually swing back."
The storm also caused some street flooding, including problems for a brief time on Colfax Avenue.
