Peter Forsberg, Rob Blake Headed For The Hall Of Fame

DENVER (CBS4) - The Hockey Hall of Fame announced their 2014 class on Monday, and a pair of stars who have worn the Avalanche sweater are part of the that class.

Center Peter Forsberg and defenseman Rob Blake were both on the Avalanche during their Stanley Cup-winning season in 2001. Forsberg also played a key role in the Avs' first Cup win in 1996.

Forsberg was actually drafted by Philadelphia and then traded to Quebec as part of the Eric Lindros deal. He then came with the team to their new home in Colorado. Forsberg wound up with 885 points in 708 career games.

Rob Blake played with the Avalanche from 2000 to 2006.

In addition to Stanley Cup wins, both Blake and Forsberg have won Olympic and world gold medals.

Players Dominik Hasek and Mike Modano were also selected to join the Hall.
