Teen Suspect In Fatal Hit & Run Formally Charged

DENVER (CBS4) - A suspect in a fatal hit-and-run in Denver has been formally charged.

According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Johnnie Duran, 18, has been charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without a valid license for the incident that occurred last Thursday.

"The charges allege that Duran, without a valid driver's license, backed over 58-year-old Eugene Guerra with a pickup truck in the 700 block of East 48th Avenue and fled the scene," Kimbrough said in a statement.

Duran was released from custody on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 20 for his second advisement on the charges.
