Derek Wolfe Up To 290 Pounds After Last Year's Medical Scare

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Six months ago Derek Wolfe had doubts he'd ever play football again. He went through the ringer both physically and emotionally.

Twenty-six hours in a medically-induced coma will do that to a football player, but Wolfe was at Dove Valley Monday and he's up to 290 pounds now.

"At first I didn't think that it was possible with all the weight loss and all that stuff, but after a few weeks it started coming back," Wolfe said. "Obviously you are down and out whenever something like that happens, but it's about staying positive, and when people around you are positive it helps and that is how everybody was."

It's the biggest and strongest Wolfe has ever been as a Denver Bronco, which is great because this might be the best defense he's ever played on as a Bronco.
