Garbage Truck Driver Dumps Load After Noticing Flames

DENVER (CBS4) - Copter4 flew over the scene of a fire in a parking lot on Hampden Avenue near Happy Canyon Monday morning.

Apparently the driver of the Alpine trash truck noticed smoke while he was on Interstate 25. He quickly went to the parking lot and dumped the load, which continued to burn when it hit the pavement.

The trash company says the driver did exactly the right thing and he's a candidate for the driver of the month.
