Suspect In Officer-Involved Shooting Appears In Court

DENVER (CBS4)- The man accused of leading police in Aurora on a chase that ended up with him ramming a patrol car appeared in a Denver courtroom.

Jeff Strouse is accused of trying to drive away from police in Aurora on Friday night and ramming a police cruiser in the process. That chase finally ended in Denver.

Police in Aurora stopped Strouse, 51, for a traffic violation near East Colfax Avenue and Yosemite Street but he took off.

An officer later spotted the suspect vehicle in the 5100 block of North Havana Street.

Police tried cornering Strouse but he struck a patrol car to get away.

Authorities say officers then fired at the suspect who still managed to get away.

After a short chase police stopped the suspect at 56th Avenue and Tucson Street in Denver. He had minor injuries.

Strouse is facing numerous charges including vehicular eluding.
