Thief's Sweatshirt Design Could Be Key To Solving Burglary
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- A thief was caught on camera stealing from the family store "Beaver's Market" in Fort Collins. Detectives hope the unusual design on his sweatshirt will help them track down the burglar.
When a Beaver's Market employee showed up to work on a cold January morning, it was obvious something was wrong.
"It had already been pried open with a crowbar," said Beaver's Market owner Bryan Beavers.
In the 12 years he had been working at his family's store, Beavers said the place had never once been burglarized. Not until Jan. 19 when the Beaver's Market surveillance system caught someone dressed in dark clothing, rummaging through the store.
"When somebody comes and steals from you, you want justice served," said Beavers.
Beaver's Market has been serving people at the Old Town location for nearly 40 years.
The burglar walked out of the store with a safe, full of hundreds of dollars worth of stamps. After months of not being able to track down a suspect, police are hoping someone can help.
Beavers knows it's tough to tell just who the man is in the photos released by police, but he's hoping someone recognizes the design on the man's sweatshirt sleeve.
"From a business standpoint it's kind of a sunk cost at this point but from a personal standpoint we'd like to see the guy caught," said Beavers.
