6-Year-Old Visits Kennedy Space Center On 'Mission' To Save NASA

DENVER (CBS4) – A 6-year-old Denver boy spent the day at Kennedy Space Center on Saturday to continue his 'mission' of saving NASA and fulfilling his dream of becoming an astronaut.

Young Connor Johnson met with astronauts, trained like an astronaut and explored space vehicles.

In December Johnson launched an online petition to save NASA's funding from budget cuts.

On Saturday he donated $9 that he had saved up himself.

NASA Kennedy Space Center Director and astronaut Robert Cabana presented Johnson with a bolt from the International Space Station and a mission patch to inspire the youngster during a ceremony.
