Rockies Team With Colorado Symphony For Game Start Theme Music

DENVER (CBS4) - When baseball fans go out to Coors Field for a Rockies game this season they're going to notice something new.

Besides the rooftop bar in right field, the Rockies have teamed up with the Colorado Symphony to create new music for when the team takes the field, and by all accounts, it's supposed to be a game changer.

"I sort of thought of the idea, 'Well, this is when the players take the field.' So I really thought like, 'What would it be like taking the field in the morning when the dew is on the grass and it's sort of cool and it's a gentle Colorado morning? What does that feel like?' " Colorado Symphony composer Charles Denler said. "That sort of was part of the inspiration of, 'Ah, this is exciting. We're taking the field, about to play the game. We have a chance of winning. Not only winning, the chance of going to the World Series, right?' The first game, that's what you're thinking about."

The Rockies home opener is Friday, April 4 versus the Arizona Diamondbacks at 2:10 p.m.
