Former Judge Allegedly Invited Teen Boy Over For Sex
ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A former municipal judge and Arapahoe County magistrate invited a 14-year-old boy over to his home to have sex, sent the boy pictures of his genitals, and used Craigslist to find the boy, according to documents obtained Wednesday by CBS4.
Arapahoe County investigators arrested Jeffrey Lane, 58, last Friday at his home after they say Lane used the Internet to try to lure a teenage boy into having sex. It turns out the teenage boy was actually a police investigator with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Internet Crimes Against Children Division, posing as a 14-year-old boy.
Lane was charged with Internet luring of a child and Internet sexual exploitation of a child, both felonies. He was released from jail on $50,000 bond.
Lane told CBS4 his lawyer "advised me not to talk to anyone about anything. I'm not going to talk about anything." His attorney, Craig Truman, also declined to talk about the charges and the arrest.
Lane was an Arapahoe County magistrate for 10 years and also served as a municipal judge in Castle Rock and Parker.

According to an arrest affidavit, the investigator posing as a teenage boy had online, text and phone conversations with Lane between Feb. 14 and Feb. 28 in what was described as a "proactive" investigation into child sexual exploitation on the Internet.
The investigator says he responded to a posting from Lane on Craigslist that said, "After school I am looking for a young boy that would like to come by and get (expletive) off."
During the subsequent conversations, the investigator says a man named "Jeff" also "described explicit sexual conduct several different times and invited me to meet him for sex. Jeff also asked me to send him pictures of my (genitals) and sent me a picture of his (genitals)."
The investigator says the phone numbers the suspect was using both belonged to Lane.
According to the newly obtained documents, "Lane was contacted and arrested after admitting to the communication with a 14-year-old."
