50 Sochi Olympians On Board For Snowboarding Championships In Vail

VAIL, Colo. (CBS4) – More than 50 Sochi Olympians are expected to compete in next week's annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships in Vail.

It's the 32nd year for the event, which already has an "already incredible roster of the world's best riders," according to officials from the event.

The championships will be held March 3 through March 8.

"I'm excited for the US Open – it's always fun to ride at an event that is not only just for snowboarders, but also run by snowboarders," Burton Team Rider Danny Davis said in a statement.

Davis plans to compete in both slopestyle and halfpipe at this year's Open.

"The Open is legendary. I look forward to this event every year," he said.

  • Jamie Anderson
