Nicotine Device Bill Clears Colorado Senate
DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Senate has voted to expand the definition of tobacco products that are off-limits to minors.
The 25-10 vote Monday sends the bill to the House.
Colorado already bans electronic cigarettes for minors, though Democratic sponsors say the law needs further clarification to ban any nicotine-delivery device. Lawmakers say they fear that current tobacco law doesn't adequately keep nicotine out of the hands of kids.
The bill doesn't address the age of buying tobacco, which is under debate in a separate bill pending in the House. That bill would raise the age for buying tobacco to 21.
