Sandwich Thief Leaves Behind Wallet At 7-Eleven

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are searching for a sandwich thief who left behind his wallet after threatening 7-Eleven employees with a knife.

Police said Deven Tomasso can pick up his wallet at any police station in Denver.

Tomasso, 29, is believed to have walked into a 7-Eleven store on Lawrence Street in downtown Denver on Feb. 11. He picked up a sandwich then threatened employees with a knife before leaving the store.

On his way out he dropped his wallet that contained his ID and address.

"We were able to identify him with the ID that was in his wallet, confirm that it was him in the store," said Denver Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez.

Tomasso had been on parole and is still on the run. His father is heartbroken.

"He had 19 days left on his parole then he was going to be free and clear," said Tomasso's father Patrick Tomasso.

Patrick said he stopped by the family home on Sunday. His son told him he's terrified of going back to prison.

"He came by and said goodbye. He's skipping town," said Patrick. "It kills me. I love him with all my heart. I've lost time at work from this and I'm frustrated. I don't know what else to do."

"If you are listening, turn yourself in. I mean seriously, do the right thing," said Patrick.
