The fire damage was contained to the inside of the home and an arson investigator said the point of origin was either the bedroom or the bathroom.

"Then we saw all this smoke just come out all of the windows and I'm like 'oh my goodness,'" said neighbor Vanessa Coranado.

The man, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

According to neighbors the man was a white male in his 50's that lived alone with his dog.

"He was you know a quiet person, he didn't like talk to people that much," said neighbor Jennifer Moyer.

The dog did survive the fire.

The cause and origin of the fire has not been determined, and authorities have not said how the man died.

"It's devastating, it's a loss." said Coranado.

Although neighbors said he smoked, investigators said this was not a cigarette related fire.
