Man Pretends To Be Firefighter Before Attacking Woman

DENVER (CBS4) – Police are trying to track down a man they say pretended to be a firefighter so he could get into a woman's home and attack her.

It happened on Friday at an apartment near Alameda Avenue and Fairmount Drive.

The man allegedly knocked on the front door and said he was investigating a gas leak. He then forced his way in and attacked the woman, possibly with a box cutter, before she fought him off.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s with corn rows, a short goatee and wearing a black jacket and black jeans.
