Man Critically Hurt In Shooting Outside Super Bowl Party

DENVER (CBS4) - A man is in critical condition after someone shot him outside a Super Bowl party on Sunday night.

Denver police said they are asking the public for help in finding out who is responsible for the shooting.

It took place at approximately 8 p.m. near the intersection of West 14th Avenue and Kalamath Street, just off Colfax Avenue.

Police interviewed people who were at the party, but they said no one seemed to know who the shooter was.

"We're not sure what led up to the shooting, whether it was an argument somewhere else or something else that transpired prior to that, we don't know," Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said. "So we're asking for any witnesses who saw what happened or heard anything to come talk to us."

The victim, who has not been identified, was at the party with his family. Police said he walked outside and soon after was shot several times. Two gunshots were in his upper body.

The victim's brother told CBS4 the victim will remain in hospital for at least three days.
