2 Dead After Shooting In Highlands Ranch

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators are trying to find out what triggered gunfire after two family members are shot to death inside their Highlands Ranch home.

The incident happened in the 500 block of Fox Hunt Circle around 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

"Just sad, it's tragic, just feel bad about it," said neighbor Craig Wilkening.

Wilkening shoveled his driveway on Saturday, but he couldn't clear the nightmare the happened next door. He said a woman next door jumped out her second-story window screaming for help. Another girl also fled the home.

"I didn't see her jump. I just heard her. So I went over there to try to help her," said Wilkening. "Heard screaming out here, 'He's coming after me.' "

When a SWAT team entered the home they found another woman and a teenage boy both shot to death.

The victims were identified as 46-year-old Tatiana Klamo and her son 15-year-old Robert Klamo.

Deputies are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.

"It's a tragedy. This is a tragedy for the family and community," said Douglas County Undersheriff Tony Spurlock. "This is an unfortunate circumstance obviously for everyone. Once we can get a little more information on the motive that may help us understand a few things."

Neighbors like Wilkening can't understand why something like this would happen to the nice, quiet family next door.

"I just feel for them. I just hope they're doing okay," Wilkening said.

The undersheriff told CBS4 the woman who jumped out the window was rushed to the hospital for her injuries, but she is expected to be okay.
