2 Dead, 1 Hurt In Jefferson County Family Disturbance

MORRISON, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says a man and a woman are dead and another person was wounded in a family disturbance that ended in gunfire Monday night.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said Tuesday deputies found two adults dead at a home in the 23000 block of Pawnee Road near Indian Hills, just off Parmalee Gulch Road when they responded to a call about a disturbance.

Deputies found another adult who was wounded and was airlifted to a hospital. The person is said to be in stable condition.

A fourth adult woman was found was unharmed hiding in a bedroom closet. Police said she was the person who called authorities about the family disturbance.

Kelley said the person suspected of shooting the others, a man, is dead and the victims are all family members. Kelley did not release their names or relationships. Deputies told CBS4 they are having a hard time locating next-of-kin.

According to deputies, it's a large family with many of whom live in the area. In the meantime they are being tight-lipped about details until they can properly notify the family of what has happened.

CBS4's Rahel Solomon spoke with neighbor Lutc Haltel who lived in the neighborhood for 40 years. He said he would talk to one of the men who lived in the home every morning when he walked his dog.

"I walk my dogs every morning and go by the house. It's really quiet up here … this is probably the worst thing that would happen," Haltel said.

"Deputies were still at the home Tuesday afternoon taking photographs and collecting evidence trying to determine what happened.
