Springs-Area Teacher Arrested On Sex Assault Count
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Colorado Springs Police say a high school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.
Authorities say 30-year-old Roger Thomas French Jr. was arrested Thursday on a charge of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
A message left on French's phone wasn't immediately returned and online jail records didn't indicate whether he had an attorney. Bail was set at $25,000.
Police say French taught at Mesa Ridge High School in the Widefield School District in southern Colorado Springs.
Police say they believe the alleged relationship was an isolated incident but they are still investigating.
