LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — A conservative Christian organization is appealing a ruling against a Lakewood baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony.

The American Civil Liberties Union had filed a complaint against shop owner Jack Phillips on behalf of Charlie Craig and David Mullins, who were married in Massachusetts and wanted a wedding cake to celebrate in Colorado.READ MORE: COVID In Colorado: State Requires Unvaccinated Residential Care Staff Be Tested At Beginning Of Every Shift
The complaint says that in July 2012, Phillips turned the couple away when he found out the cake was to celebrate a gay wedding.
