Frederick Mother Free On Bond After 3-Year-Old Son Shot & Killed Himself

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- A mother charged after her three year old son accidentally shot and killed himself is a free woman.

Dione Warren posted $75,000 bond on Friday.

According to police and court records, Warren's son, Sheine Steine, shot himself in the head in October, 2013 at their home in Frederick after finding a handgun between the mattress and frame of a bed. The gun belongs to Sheine's stepfather, who hasn't been charged.

Warren told police it's possible her son had watched McCollum put the gun in it's place.

Warren first told police she was home at the time in another room when she heard the gunshot, later she told police she was smoking inside her car in the driveway.

According to court documents, detectives interviewed warren's young daughter who says her mother left the toddler home by himself while she dropped the girl off at school.
