Man In Custody After Homicide At Hotel In Lakewood
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Lakewood police are interviewing a person of interest after a body was found in a hotel room.
Police found the body at the Denver West Inn located in the 7100 block of West Colfax Avenue Monday afternoon.
On Tuesday police said they are officially investigating the death as a homicide.
"Upon arrival police entered the room and observed what appeared to be a male party who was deceased. After obtaining a search warrant, further investigation and evidence recovered on scene indicated to detectives that the death of the male found in the room was the result of a homicide," Steve Davis with Lakewood police said in a statement.
They have a man in custody that they are questioning and calling a person of interest.
"Detectives feel that their case is focusing in the right direction and there is no continuing danger to the public," Davis said.
Investigators have not released the identity of either man.
