Cold Temps Keeping Heating Companies Busy

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - The freezing temperatures are keeping heater repair companies busy.

Almost every truck at Allen Service in Fort Collins was out on call Friday. The company gets up to 35 calls on cold weather days.

"It can be everything from a thermostat issue to a thermostat that is very old," Dave Johnson with Allen Service said. "To even some small mechanical things that are going on. We see everything."

Johnson offered some tips to keep a furnace working well year round. Change filters every three months and make sure the system is checked once a year before it gets cold.
