Former Golden High School Secretary Sentenced For Embezzlement

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A former Golden High School secretary has been sentenced to 10 years in community corrections for embezzlement.

Judith Marie Eakins, 54, of Wheat Ridge, pleaded guilty to stealing more than $150,000, including money from school dances, plays and concerts.

"In September 2012, an internal audit at Golden High School revealed losses in numerous Golden High School accounts managed by Eakins between 2009 and 2012," Pam Russell with the district attorney's office said in a statement.

Eakins has also been ordered to repay the money.
