Group Rallies 1 Year After Dog Killed By Commerce City Officer

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - A group is looking to find "justice for Chloe" a year after the dog was killed by police.

One year ago Chloe was shot and killed by a police officer in Commerce City. On Sunday people gathered at the intersection of 104th and chambers calling for change. They want non-lethal methods required for police officers dealing with dogs.

Video of the shooting of Chloe went viral and sparked protests. Chloe's owner says his pet was gentle and didn't deserve to be killed. He has filed a $1 million lawsuit against Commerce City and its police officers.

The officer who pulled the trigger was cleared of animal cruelty charges in court.
