LAFAYETTE, Colo. (CBS4) - Authorities in Lafayette have arrested four people who they believe shot the windows out of approximately 40 cars and homes.

Dozens of residents woke up Thursday morning to find shattered windows.

Police arrested Lafayette residents Jessica Richards, 20, Devin Lujan, 21, and Nicholas Lujan, 19, plus Matthew Ball, 21, of Wilson, Kansas. They are suspected of shooting out the windows with BB guns.

Police told CBS4 the group may have committed the crimes because they were bored.

Lafayette police are now working with the Boulder County Sheriff's office to determine if the suspects were involved in similar vandalism attacks around Boulder County.

Jim Shea told CBS4 the damage done to his van could cost more than $700 to repair.

"I came out at 4:30 this morning to go to work and woke up to a pile of glass laying on the ground," he said.

Shea said he doesn't know when the windows were shot out.

When CBS4 interviewed victim Katie Caron she said she still had yet to clean up all the glass on and around her daughter's car seat in her vehicle. She said the people that shot her windows out were thoughtless.

"It's like they don't understand that this actually costs us money. My insurance doesn't cover this. I'll have to pay for it on my own," she said.
