Man Dies After Being Shot By Fountain Police
FOUNTAIN, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died after he was shot by Fountain police during a confrontation with officers.
The El Paso County District Attorney's Office says 25-year-old Jonathan Clark died late Monday at Memorial Hospital in nearby Colorado Springs.
Police say officers responding to reports of a traffic crash and shots being fired earlier Monday found Clark with a gun to his head. The officers say shots were fired while they tried to negotiate with him, and he was struck in the chest and hand.
Authorities say a woman ran from the car as officers approached.
None of the officers were hurt.
The District Attorney's Office is investigating.
