Ag Secretary Vilsack Tours Fort Collins Facility

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack toured the National Center for Genetic Resources Preservation at Colorado State University.

The facility he visited on Wednesday is one of the largest agricultural gene banks in the United States.

"This grant to Colorado State will work with a facility and a company called Cool Planet Energy Company that has figured out how to take that woody biomass, that diseased wood, and turn it into a liquid transportation fuel," Vilsack said.

Vilsack is supporting requests for Congress to pass a comprehensive Food, Farm and Jobs Bill to support agriculture.
