Fort Carson To Welcome Home More Than 300 Soldiers

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — Fort Carson is set to welcome home more than 300 soldiers who have spent the last nine months serving in the Middle East.

About 250 soldiers from the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division will be honored during a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Monday. They were deployed to Kuwait to help with security cooperation, joint exercises and training.

Another 90 soldiers from the 62nd Engineer Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, 555th Engineer Brigade will be welcomed home during a ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday. They have been deployed in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

About 250 Fort Carson soldiers returned on Friday afternoon after being deployed to Kuwait. They were helping members of the Kuwait Armed Forces.
