DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver continue to search for the victim and the suspects who took him in a kidnapping case in Denver's Highlands neighborhood.

The victim in the case has been identified as Maurico Rogerio Perez, who has the nickname "Short Dog." He's 5-foot-5, and police say if you see him you are asked to call police immediately.

Police were called to a home in the 3600 block of Pecos Street just after 8 p.m. Thursday on reports of a man with a gun. After arriving they discovered that a home had been broken into.

Denver police spokeswoman Sgt. Betty Hale said several men had entered the home, a weapon was shown and the men then took one man from the home and fled in "a silver Blazer, possibly an S-10, and a white sedan." There was also a woman in the home who was not harmed.

"Definitely there's some concern if someone is taken from their home forcibly and no one knows where he was taken or what happened to him, of course there should be some concern," said Hale.

Police interviewed witnesses and neighbors on Thursday night and detectives are still trying to figure out what led to the crime.
